Amazing Stay

My wife Gudrun and I have invited my two sons and their girlfriends to go with us on vacation to Umbria, Italy. We stayed in this beautiful house on Piazza Della Rocca in Trevi, called Palazzo Neri or should I rather say Palazzo Jouret? When arrived we were fascinated with the open space of the various rooms, from the living room and kitchen downstairs to the bedrooms on the first and second floor. All of them were extremely well decorated with as eye catcher the two-floor high wall painting, visible from the first and second floor. My wife and I took the bedroom on the second floor enjoying the close view on the fantastic ceiling painting. Further exploring we were equally surprised with the area behind a somewhat hidden door in one of the downstairs room, providing access to an impressive outdoor area, with a large jacuzzi and swimming pool hidden under a terrace, and impressive bedroom build with a great view on this piece of architectural art. There is also access to a terrace on top of the house, very nice location to enjoy a ‘prosecco’ under a blue sky and burning sun.

Besides this great infrastructure to stay in, the house was also very well located, quiet and close to the market place with some shops, a bar and a couple of nice restaurants.

Trevi itself is worthwhile visiting and perfectly located to visit other villages nearby e.g. Spello, Spoleto, Montefalco, Bevagna and as topper Assisi. Taking the effort to drive a bit further away allows you to visit lake Trasimeno, have a boat trip to the island, get back and enjoy the marvelous Italian gelato!

Many thanks Rik and Bernadette, this was a great vacation for our family, definitely triggered by your marvelous house as place to stay, and Trevi’s perfect location to visit Umbria.

Amazing Trevi and Palazzo Neri

Our dear Bernadette and Rik.

We feel more then obliged to thank you for our wonderful and exceptional experience we had in your house this summer.

My wife and me had a long dream to stay in Italy for an extended vacation to experience the special Italian life style in a typical old town. Knowing Italy from several trips before, we decided to concentrate on Umbria , the green and pleasant heart of Italy.

We arrived first in the summer of 2015 to inspect several options we located on the net.

Palazzo Neri appealed to us from the first look on the net presentation, therefore we set our searching base in the hotel next to the palazzo. We arrived to Trevi one day in July for the next day scheduled inspection of the palazzo.

Coming back from dinner in the town, we met Bernadette ,Rik and their lovely children sitting in Piazza Della Rocca in front of the palazzo and the hotel. We became friends immediately and the rest ,as it is said,is history. We fell in love with the little picturistic town of Trevi, the enchanting piazza ,where it is located and of course the unbelievable attractive Palazzo Neri.

As everybody can see from the pictures on the net, the palazzo has its unique amazing design and art ,besides its full indulging amenities. But what really attracted us to this house was that this was the residence of people who loved the house and made u love it and them. This was completely different feeling from other houses we inspected , which were rental designated.

Whenever Bernadette and Rik where in Trevi we met for aperitifs, dinners and long talks about children, art, travels and good dining. Needless to say that they were our main source for all the information we needed for our extended stay. We stayed in Palazzo Neri for 3.5 months during spring -summer 2016. We invited friends and family to brag and enjoy with us. They were truly impressed.

We went through a process of falling in love with the place and Italy ,even 3.5 months are not enough.

People who knew us in Trevi ,inclusive Bernadette and Rik ,are convinced we will be coming back. We feel the same.

Natale in Trevi

Our 4-day stay at Trevi was great and I have to say that this house made it very special! The house is located in the centre of Trevi. You will arrive on a nice plaza and when entering the house through the restored wooden door, you are immediately impressed by the high ceilings and the beautiful fresco. You can sit in the sofa for hours, just staring around you, enjoying the warm fire place and a nice glass of Italian wine. All the rooms are very clean and nicely decorated by the owners. You also have a fully equipped kitchen, but as there are some very nice restaurants and bars in the neighborhood, there was no need for us to use it. Something I will certainly not forget is the rooftop terrace. It is the perfect place to drink an aperitivo before going out. Even in December, the weather was still nice enough to use this terrace. And the inside of the house is as beautiful as the view you have outside on the roof terrace.

Beside all these nice words on the house, Trevi is perfectly located in Umbria to visit cities like Assisi, Spoleto, Montefalco,… You can find an overview of all the ‘to do’s and must sees’ in the kitchen. If you want some extra tips, you can always ask the owners. They are happy to help you anytime. One more thing, during your stay, please do not forget to drink an espresso or cappuccino in one of the local bars, meet with the locals and experience the relaxing Italian culture.

I would highly recommend this house to all my friends and family that want to visit the this beautiful part of Italy.

I can only describe this trip in one word: Amazing!

Great house away from tourist paths!

My husband and I were traveling with our parents and this house was perfect for us. Trevi is a nice, quieter town away from hoards of tourists. The house was as stated, fully stocked, clean and the washer/dryer was very nice for us. There is not an air conditioner but the house does have a small unit in the master bedroom that was useful at night. Most days we kept the windows and doors open. We had lots of passers by peak in and wonder about the house and the beautiful fresco. Moira at Cafe Roma was very nice and always available for questions. The owners are great and reply very quickly and offer great suggestions on things to do in the area. We went with Anne from annesitaly.com for tours in Spello and Assisi, highly recommend!! I hope to one day make it back to this beautiful town and we will definitely stay at this house again!!

Amazing

I’m very grateful for the opportunity of living in that beautiful house! It was totally a pleasure. When I came inside the first time I was really touched – an amazing & huge living room, the rich interior and wonderful paintings, old-fashioned furnitures and a lot of gold adornment on the ceiling. I had the feeling that I was in heaven and when I saw all rooms and the balcony on the roof top – I totally felt in love 🙂

I could drink delicious wine and was watching at the beautiful views from the roof! During the breakfast I could say: „buongiorno” to the curious tourists who wanted to see beautiful paintings inside in our living room 🙂 It were 7 days full of happiness, classical music, laughing & fun in a cozy and warm house!

I even didn’t expect that I could live 7 days in such an amazing place 🙂

Thank you so much! smile 🙂

I’m sending my warmest regards,

Olga S.

Fantastic renovated church in Trevi

Our jaws literally dropped when we walked into this renovated church. Beautifully done and even better than the photos. Everything we needed was provided including great information about local places to go and see. We were made so welcome by the owners Rik and Bernadette and Moira who looked after us during our stay. Trevi is a little treasure. It is so well placed to visit the whole Umbrian region. During July and August Trevi hosted a number of music and gastronomic events – a good time to visit. All together a great place to stay!

Great Stay in Trevi

My wife, adult son and I stayed at Palazzo Neri for one week and had a truly memorable stay. The Palazzo is gorgeous and the facilities all first rate. We wish our permanent home were close to this nice.

Trevi is a cute hilltop town that provides a quiet escape, yet is close to all there is to see in Umbria. We loved our day trips to Assisi, Spoleto and Montefalcon. As well, Trevi has several nice restaurants where one can enjoy a nice, relaxed meal after a busy day.

Rik, the owner, was easy to work with and provided really nice guidance for what to see and do in the area.

We couldn’t ask for a nicer stay.

Wonderful place

This was a return visit for us, having stayed here two years ago. We hoped that everything was as perfect as we remembered, and we were happy to see that it definitely was. The town of Trevi is a jewel, set up on a hilltop that is covered with olive trees and grapevines.

The location of Palazzo Neri in the center of town makes you feel like you are a resident. The unit is equipped with everything you would need during a visit, so you don’t have to worry about buying things like spices and oil that you will not finish during your stay. The owner has thought of everything. The minute you open the front door, you know that you are in a special place. Returning there at the end of busy days was a real pleasure.

Trevi is a lovely, welcoming town with excellent restaurants. The caffe on the piazza has the best cappuccino we have ever had! All of the towns in Umbria are worth a visit and a stroll around town. We enjoyed a drive to Ancona on the Adriatic through the mountains and numerous tunnels.

We would be happy to return to this place for a third time.

Palazzo Neri & Trevi true Umbrian treasures

The view of Trevi looming over us as we came off the historic Roman road Flaminian Way was dramatic. An historic medieval village complete with Piazza; winding passageways and incredible views, Trevi is the perfect spot to explore Umbria. And Palazzo Neri is the perfect place to indulge in daydreams of being a Renaissance Prince/Princess with its 3 story vaulted ceiling; rooftop terrace; complete and modern kitchen and amazing decor. Clean; unique and even better than the online description, the Palazzo was everything we had expected and more. A great villa in a beautiful part of Italy. Enjoy!

Fell in love with Trevi

Words cannot express the charm of this town. It is only surpassed by the awe one feels as he enters into Palazzo Neri. We were extremely impressed by our accommodations here. All of the bedrooms were well situated with all the comforts of home and the kitchen was the perfect place for us to cook meals for six. There are many villages within a short drive and we were able to make many trips out but the best part of the trip was staying in Trevi and experiencing your wonderful village and its friendly people. Thank you so much for everything, we will be back soon!

Magnificent property. Unequaled location.

Although the photos on the website suggest the unique qualities of this palazzo, on our arrival we were still amazed by the 10 m. high central room (and the others) and the overall livability. The juxtaposition of modern art was also a plus. I’ve never encountered such an unusual, beautiful, well-stocked and clean property. No amenity was overlooked. Even previous knee replacements didn’t deter some of the group from ascending the stone stairs to partake in a glass or two of wine on the rooftop terrace.Three of our group of six (we’ve studied Italian together for years) stayed here and the other three in an apartment recently bought and updated by two of them. As you might guess from the last sentence we needed no convincing to visit Trevi where all of us had been before. The owners, Rik and Bernadette had many suggestions as to what to do, where to eat, where to taste wine and olive oil. We went to most of them and added a few more. I would definitely stay here again.

Treasure in Trevi

The location could not be better, right in the heart of Trevi. Our initial introduction to Palazzo Neri, by Moira, was was warm and effective, and the next morning’s Cappucino “Speciale” started a daily ritual, as she makes the worlds best.

Palazzo Neri was very clean, comfortable, and of course picture perfect.

From there, we were able to do our planned day trips, with all of our destinations reached within minutes – perfecto! We also greatly appreciated the recommendations of Rik & Bernadette, with both La Vecchia Posta and Taverna del Setta worthy of our return visits. (once was not enough) In Spello, Roberto proved to be a perfect host, and we tasted and talked wines for over five hours. Fantastic!

Grazie Mille!

Thank God for the stairs

My wife fell in love with Palazzo Neri from its homeaway description. We were not to be disappointed. After first having to put off our trip to Italy because of a foot injury we later were able to put together a 42 day trip. After two weeks in the country we arrived in Trevi for our 24 day stay at the Palazzo. We really felt like part of the community and loved the tips we had received from Rik the owner on what to do and where to eat etc. . We found the people in the hotel next door and the restaurants all within a short walk among the nicest in all of our Italy travels. The warm reception we received most mornings when we took our coffee at the Café Roma in the Piazza started each day off right. Most days we threw a dart at the map of Italy and made our way to one of the many close by cities. Always returning to the Palazzo by late afternoon and able to kick back before deciding on which of the many good restaurants in Trevi we would enjoy that evening. We did shop at some of the local groceries and on occasion just enjoyed cooking our own dinner but with something added from the wine shops and maybe the local pizza places. The Palazzo left nothing lacking and the real fun was seeing the look on our visitors faces when they walked in and were overwhelmed by the spacious and beautiful Palazzo where we choose to spend most of our vacation. The surrounding country side is truly beautiful and my wife and I enjoyed our daily rides between Trevi and the target of the day city as much as the cities visitied. The stairs in the Palazzo helped keep the weight off from all those good Italian meals. Our thanks go out to Rik and Bernedette for making this lovely Palazzo available for a truly incredible vacation.

Amaizing Silvester

Together with my wife, we had the incredible fortune to celebrate the San Silvester period in Palazzo Neri.

The first impression when entering the palazzo is truly striking. The harmony between height and depth which seemingly can only be found in Italy is astonishing. The contrast between symmetric and asymmetric themes and the different floor levels is an unique experience.

It is clearly the result of a successful renovation with the signature of an exceptional architect.

The selection by the owner of art combined with wall paintings and furniture are the finishing touch of a very remarcable place.

All modern comfort is available and we really enjoyed our aperitifs on the roof terrace overlooking the village of Trevi and the adjacent mountains.

Trevi is a lovely renovated place overarching the valley of Clutinno.

Restaurants and shops are plenty and cities like Spello, Speleto, Montefalco and Assissi are close-by and more than worth a visit.

The cherry on the cake was an unforgettable lunch sitting outside on January1. In a small town called Lisiro and owned and renovated by the artist Menghetti.

A classic vacation

Not a location for everyone. This charming medeval hilltop town, surrounded by olive trees does not have a nightclub or a KFC. What it has is peace and quite in an idea location to really get to know this part of Italy. We spent two weeks here at the end of Aug. and could easly made it a month. Montefalco is near with it’s wonderful Sangrantino wine and the unspoiled town of Spello is just minutes away. The villa is a treasure unto it self with all the comforts to make the vacation trully one to remember. There are excellent place to eat in Trevi or you can be your own Italian chef in a kitchen that’s a pleasue to create in. The villa is very clean and well cared for with all the amenities and creature comforts one could as for. The owner, Rik, is friendly and easy to work with and has your interest and comfort a heart. Moira, the local agent, is a delight and her cappuccino at Cafe Roma is not to be missed.

I would and have recommend Palazzo Neri to friends and I am looking forward to returning at the first oppertunity.

Lovely hilltown villa

Four of us spent two weeks at Palazzo Neri. It is a beautiful property, a half block off the main piazza della Rocca. The villa has everything you would need and is a fun place to prepare a few dinners at home while sharing local vino, which is a great bargain. One should be able to climb stairs which is not really a problem, but the ones to the roof are narrow and kind of steep. Its a beautifully setting and gives one the feeling of real Italy. A large group from Michigan was staying at the hotel across the little square and wanted to see the place so we invited them in for a tour. They ooed and ahed over the place.

There are many maps at the villa and info on Umbria and the many towns to visit. Each day we chose a different place to visit and have lunch. The countryside is lovely with all the olive groves and many vinyards which had hanging clusters of red grapes soon to be ready for harvest. We stayed busy the entire 14 days and enjoyed the many friendly townspeople and the Saturday open air market oh the roasted pig.

We ended each evening with a visit to Cafe Roma and gelota from Moira, a lovely lady, who is also the caretaker for the villa.

Rik, the owner was easy to work with and everything was as presented. We remember those days with fondness as we shovel the snow in Colorado.

A piece of Paradise

We had a simply remarkable week in Palazzo Neri. The villa itself is truly unique, beautifully furnished and equipped with all comforts for a perfect stay. It was not only spotless, but tastefully decorated, with every modern convenience. Trevi itself is an Umbrian jewel. Set high up above the valley, the views are simply breathtaking, and Trevi provides such easy access to so many other towns, including Assisi, Perugia, Spoleto, Montefalco and Bevagna. We were delighted to discover that Trevi has several fine restaurants, an open air market, and locals who made us feel so welcome. Moira, the owner of the cafe, will welcome you and be available 24/7 for anything you might need. Moira is as delightful as she is responsible. Not only will we return to Palazzo Neri at the first opportunity, but we have promised ourselves an annual visit.

Juliana R.

A perfect vacation Site

The Umbrian town of Trevi is a jewel. Set on a hilltop surrounded by olive trees, Its streets are all postcard-perfect. The Palazzo Neri sits in the middle of its medieval beauty, just a short walk from the main piazza with its restaurants and coffee shop. The multi-story house is elegant and well-equipped, with a wonderful kitchen for cooking meals at home.

Every amenity has been provided for comfort and convenience. Everything was exactly as described, and the owners left the house stocked with everything that we could possibly need for our stay.

There are many steps in the house, but that was not a problem for us. There is a lovely roof-top terrace where you can watch the sun set over the tops of the surrounding buildings.

We enjoyed the restaurants in Trevi, and especially enjoyed the beautiful cappuccinos in the caffe on the piazza. The townspeople were very friendly and made us feel very welcome.

We look forward to a return visit.
